In a recent report, Goal Brasil mentioned that Everton are keeping tabs on Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto. It has been claimed that the Toffees have identified the Brazilian attacker as a target for the summer transfer window.
Alberto’s Excellent Rise In Brazilian Football
Alberto is having a fruitful season at the Brazilian club as he has managed to produce some impressive displays for them in the final third. The 22-year-old has made 53 senior appearances for Corinthians thus far, scoring 16 goals and earning eight assists in various competitions.
The Brazilian talent has proven himself to be a valuable contributor in the opponent’s half based on his average of 1.8 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game in the Brasileirao. However, he needs to find a way to improve his link-up play up top after making just 74.3% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Corinthians will run out at the end of 2027. Hence, the Toffees will have to make a big offer if they are serious about recruiting Alberto this summer.
Should Everton Boss Sean Dyche Move In For Alberto?
Alberto is a technically gifted footballer who can create space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. The Brazilian talent can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing with confidence on the pitch.
The talented youngster can also create some inviting chances for others around him but has to figure out a way to improve his link-up play up top.
We can expect Alberto to add more goals and creativity to Everton boss Sean Dyche’s attack. He is good enough to offer some serious competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the Merseyside club next season.
Alberto would also serve as an upgrade over Neal Maupay at Goodison Park. Thus, it makes sense for the Toffees to move in for the Brazilian sensation during this summer transfer period.
At 22, the future is quite bright for the Corinthians whizkid. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical nature and high intensity of English football if Everton manage to get him on board ahead of the new season.
