In a recent report, Football.London stated that Chelsea have cooled their interest in Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. It is understood that the Blues have allowed Liverpool to go clear in the race to sign the Argentina international.
Mac Allister’s Impressive Form In English Football
Mac Allister is having an outstanding season at the American Express Community Stadium as he has put in a run of influential performances for Brighton at the centre of the park. The 24-year-old has scored 12 times and picked up a couple of assists in 35 matches for the Seagulls during this campaign across various competitions.
The Argentine sensation has been a joy to watch in both halves based on his average of 2.1 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 2.7 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 87.6% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
Mac Allister’s current contract at the Amex is set to expire in the summer of 2025. Thus, it won’t have been easy for the Blues to land him on the cheap in this off-season.
