Arsenal will lock horns with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this Wednesday night in what looks set to be the most significant game of this Premier League campaign. Both the Gunners and Man City are in contention to secure the league title going into this fixture. The North London club were held to a 3-3 draw by Southampton recently which has halted their momentum ahead of this mammoth clash on the road.
Mikel Arteta will opt for a 4-3-3 formation once again and could make one tweak to his starting XI for this game. Granit Xhaka is expected to return from an illness while Fabio Vieira makes way for him and drops to the bench.
4-3-3 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester City
Defence
Aaron Ramsdale will function in between the sticks for the Gunners after shipping in three goals versus the Saints recently. William Saliba will resume his defensive partnership with Gabriel at the centre of the Arsenal backline as they hope to keep the Man City attackers frustrated during the game.
Ben White will look to give a good account of himself as the right-back while Oleksandr Zinchenko hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them would have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Kieran Tierney will have to be content with a place on the bench as he offers cover for the left-back position.
Midfield
Arteta could name a midfield three of Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard as they hope to move the ball well at the centre of the park and cause problems for Man City on the counter.
As mentioned earlier, Fabio Vieira will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Gabriel Martinelli will function as the left-sided wide player while Bukayo Saka hopes to weave his magic from the right. Gabriel Jesus will lead the line for Arsenal in midweek. The Brazilian striker would be desperate to get his name on the scoresheet at his old hunting ground.
Eddie Nketiah will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Arsenal are in need of a goal by then.
