In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri. It is believed that Spurs could face competition in the form of West Ham United in the race to recruit the Morocco international.
En-Nesyri’s Impressive Record At The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium
En-Nesyri is having an up-and-down season at the Andalusian club but has managed to put in a run of productive displays as the focal point of their attack. The 25-year-old has banged in 13 goals in 35 appearances for Sevilla during this campaign in all competitions.
The Moroccan sensation has proven himself to be a decent frontman in Europe based on his average of 1.0 shots, 0.5 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game in the UEFA Europa League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 78.8% in European football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Sevilla is set to expire in the summer of 2025. Thus, it would be difficult for Spurs to recruit him on the cheap in this off-season.
Is En-Nesyri A Decent Choice For Tottenham Hotspur?
En-Nesyri is proficient at finding space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. En-Nesyri is primarily a centre-forward but can also play as a wide player if needed.
The Morocco sensation can be quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area. En-Nesyri has what it takes to make an instant impact at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football.
At 25, En-Nesyri has his best years ahead of him which makes him a decent choice for Spurs to pursue at the end of this campaign. He is good enough to serve as a decent backup to Harry Kane if Tottenham can keep hold of their star forward beyond this summer.
Furthermore, En-Nesyri could even help the North London club challenge for some major trophies in the coming seasons. With all things considered, Spurs should consider going all out to secure the services of the Moroccan attacker this summer.
