Liverpool will clash heads with Leeds United at Elland Road this Monday night as they try to collect maximum points away from home in the Premier League. The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by Arsenal recently, so they will be desperate to get back to winning ways away in Yorkshire.
Jurgen Klopp will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first XI for this game. Both Thiago Alcantara and Darwin Nunez will get a chance to play from the start while Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota drop to the bench.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Leeds United
Defence
Alisson Becker will resume his duties in goal for the Reds after shipping in a couple of goals in his last league outing. Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk will act as Liverpool’s primary centre-halves as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will function as the right-back while Andrew Robertson fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get so that they can engineer enough chances for the Reds to win this contest.
Joel Matip will be named on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson will make up Liverpool’s midfield as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to create enough chances for their teammates up top.
Curtis Jones and James Milner will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Darwin Nunez will operate as the left-sided wide player while Mohamed Salah looks to give a good account of himself as the right-winger.
Cody Gakpo will spearhead the Merseyside club’s attack in the final third. He has to hold possession up well and get a few clean strikes at goal.
Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the Reds are in need of a goal by then.
