Chelsea will lock horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they hope to earn a win on the road in the Premier League. The Blues were held to a 0-0 draw by Liverpool in midweek, so they would be keen on getting a victory versus Wolves this weekend.
The West London giants will set themselves up in a 3-4-2-1 formation and could make some changes for this league clash away from home. Raheem Sterling is expected to play from the start while N’Golo Kante drops to the bench.
3-4-2-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga will feature in between the sticks for the Blues after keeping a clean sheet against Liverpool in his last league appearance. Chelsea could line up with a back three of Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana for this game as they try to keep the Wolves attackers at bay throughout the game.
Trevoh Chalobah will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic and Enzo Fernandez will function as the holding midfielders as they focus on dominating possession and orchestrating some decent chances in the final third.
Ben Chilwell will keep his spot on the left flank while Reece James looks to give a good account of himself as the right wing-back. Both of them will get the freedom to express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling will operate as the free-flowing attacking midfielders as they try to cause some problems for the Wolves defenders.
Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante and Conor Gallagher will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Kai Havertz will lead the line for Chelsea on the attacking third of the pitch. The German striker failed to score a goal in his last league appearance, so this game could be an ideal opportunity for him to get some confidence back in his game.
Mykhailo Mudryk will have to be content with a place on the bench as he awaits his chance to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
