Rangers will clash heads with Aberdeen at the Pittodrie Stadium on Sunday evening as they try to secure a positive result in the Scottish Premiership. The Glaswegian side managed to earn a dominant 5-2 win over St. Mirren last weekend which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Michael Beale will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first team for this game. Rabbi Matondo could get a chance to impress from the start of this league clash while Malik Tillman makes way for him and drops to the bench.
4-2-3-1 Rangers Predicted Lineup To Face Aberdeen
Defence
Allan McGregor will operate in goal for Rangers after shipping in a couple of goals in his last league outing. John Souttar will play alongside Ben Davies at the centre of Beale’s defence as they try to keep the Abderdeen attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
James Tavernier will retain his spot at right-back while Borna Barisic hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. They will both have to perform their defensive duties well if Rangers are to secure a clean sheet this weekend.
Leon King will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
John Lundstram and Nicolas Raskin will operate as the holding midfielders as they try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Rabbi Matondo, Todd Cantwell and Fashion Sakala will play just ahead of them as part of Beale’s attack.
Both Cantwell and Saka managed to get their names on the scoresheet in the 5-2 win over St. Mirren recently. Hence, we can expect both of them to be eager to do well for the Glaswegian giants this weekend.
Scott Arfield will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he awaits his chance to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Alfredo Morelos will once again lead the line for Beale’s side up top. He scored a brace in his last league outing which would give him a lot of confidence going into this clash versus Aberdeen away from home.
