Bayern Munich will face off against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this Tuesday night as they hope to earn a good result in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie. The Bavarian giants earned a 1-0 win away at SC Freiburg recently which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Thomas Tuchel will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his starting XI for this game. Kingsley Coman and Dayot Upamecano are likely to play from the start of this European clash.
4-2-3-1 Bayern Munich Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester City
Defence
Yan Sommer will feature in goal for the Munich outfit after he kept a clean sheet in his last outing. Dayot Upamecano will function alongside Matthijs de Ligt at the centre of the Bayern backline as they focus on stopping the home team from scoring during the 90 minutes.
Benjamin Pavard will fill in as the right-back while Alphonso Davies hopes to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Tuchel will ask both of them to keep things tidy at the back and create some decent chances from the wide areas.
Daley Blind will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka will anchor the midfield for Bayern Munich as they try to get a stranglehold in the game at the centre of the park.
The talented trio of Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman will play just ahead of them as part of Tuchel’s attack.
Both Sane and Coman would be given the freedom to express themselves so that they can get in behind the Man City backline and create enough chances for Bayern to win this contest.
Ryan Gravenberch, Noussair Mazraoui and Sadio Mane will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to shine in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Thomas Muller will lead the line for Bayern Munich in the final third. The German attacker will be given the responsibility to cause some headaches for the opposition defenders and be a real threat up top.
