Chelsea will entertain Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night as they try to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid recently which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.
Frank Lampard will probably set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make some tweaks to his starting XI for this game. Both Ben Chilwell and Joao Felix will get a chance to impress from the start of this contest in the English capital.
4-3-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Brentford
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga will play in goal for the West London club after shipping in a couple of goals in his last outing. Wesley Fofana and Thiago Silva will function as Chelsea’s primary centre-halves as they try to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.
Reece James will try to put in an influential performance as the right-back while Ben Chilwell gets an opportunity to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them would have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Trevoh Chalobah will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic, Enzo Fernandez and N’Golo Kante will be given the license to dominate the game for the Blues at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball well collectively so that they can create some inviting chances in the final third.
Mason Mount will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Lampard opts to call upon his services.
Attack
Joao Felix will try to put his pace to good use on the left flank. Raheem Sterling will hope to do the same from the right while Kai Havertz spearheads Lampard’s attack down the middle.
Havertz needs a goal to boost his confidence, so this game would be a good chance for him to get back to goal-scoring ways in front of the Chelsea faithful.
Christian Pulisic will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to impress in the latter stages if needed.
