In a scathing critique, ex-Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has heavily criticized the Blues for their alarming display in their defeat to Brentford, which ended 2-0. Cundy slammed his former club for their poor form in the ongoing Premier League season.
After a lacklustre 2-0 loss to Brentford, Chelsea‘s standing in the English top flight has deteriorated further. Cesar Azpilicueta’s own goal in the first half put the Blues on the back foot, and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo added a second goal for his team. Following the match, Cundy launched into a passionate tirade regarding his former club’s lacklustre performance and overall struggles in the current campaign.
Jason Cundy: "I’m numb to what’s going on at Stamford Bridge. There’s so much wrong at Chelsea Football Club from top to bottom. Forget the squad of players, the club is in disarray. There’s no getting away from it. I don’t think we’ll pick up another point this season."

What Went Wrong With Chelsea This Season?
The 2022/23 season has been a nightmare for Chelsea and their fans. The club has endured a torrid time on and off the field, with poor performances leading to several managerial changes and a lack of motivation within the squad.
After a successful campaign last season, which saw them finish third in the Premier League and win the UEFA Champions League, Chelsea fans had high hopes for the new season. However, things quickly turned sour, with the Blues struggling to find their rhythm and results not going their way.
The Blues started the season under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, who had masterminded their Champions League triumph in the last season. However, things did not go as planned, and the German was sacked in October 2022 after a string of poor results.
In his place, Todd Boehly brought in Graham Potter from Brighton & Hove Albion. However, he was unable to turn things around, and he, too, was shown the door a few weeks earlier, just six months after his appointment.
The managerial changes have not been the only problem at Stamford Bridge this season. The players have also come under fire for lacking motivation and effort on the field. Frank Lampard has yet to make an impact as the interim manager, and Mauricio Pochettino has verbally agreed to fill in the vacancy next season; the former PSG and Tottenham manager will have a lot of pressure going into the new campaign and only time can tell if he could turn things around.
