Barcelona will clash heads with Rayo Vallecano at Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas this Wednesday night as they hope to secure a win on the road. The Catalan club managed to earn a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid last weekend which will give them a ton of confidence going into this game.
Xavi will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make one change to his first XI for this contest. Franck Kessie will get an opportunity to play from the start in the absence of Sergio Busquets, who is suspended for this game.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Rayo Vallencano
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will function in between the sticks for the Catalan outfit after securing a clean sheet in his last outing. Marcos Alonso will play alongside Ronald Araujo at the centre of Barca’s backline as they try to keep the home team frustrated during the 90 minutes.
Jules Kounde will operate as the right-back while Alejandro Balde hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. Xavi will give both of them the freedom to express themselves in the opposition half.
Eric Garcia will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Frenkie de Jong, Franck Kessie and Gavi will make up Xavi’s midfield as they focus on dominating the game at the centre of the park and engineer enough chances to win this clash away from home.
Pedri will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Raphinha will play as the left-sided wide player while Ferran Torres could get the license to catch the eye on the right flank. Both of them are expected to switch positions throughout the game so that they can keep the opposition defenders guessing on the field.
Robert Lewandowski will spearhead Xavi’s attack up top. The Polish striker needs a goal to boost his confidence ahead of the final few matches of this campaign.
Ansu Fati will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages of the clash if Barca are in need of a goal by then.
