Chelsea will clash heads with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this Tuesday night as they look to secure a win on their travels in the Premier League. The Blues suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Brentford recently which has drained their confidence ahead of this London derby.
Frank Lampard will set his side up in a 3-5-2 formation and could make some changes to his first team for this game. Mykhailo Mudryk and Kai Havertz, who is a major doubt for this game, will play from the start of this contest as Lampard looks to find the right formula in midweek.
3-5-2 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga will feature in between the sticks for the Blues after shipping in a couple of goals in his last league outing. Lampard could once again opt for a back three of Wesley Fofana, Thiago Silva and Trevoh Chalobah as they try to keep the Arsenal attackers frustrated during the game.
Benoit Badiashile will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic, Enzo Fernandez and N’Golo Kante will anchor the midfield for Chelsea as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
Ben Chilwell could get a chance to impress on the left flank while Ruben Loftus-Cheek hopes to catch the eye as the right-sided wide player. Both of them need to defend their penalty box and hope to offer an outlet for the Blues on the counter.
Cesar Azpilicueta will be available for selection on the bench and might come on in the second half if Lampard decides to call upon his services. However, Reece James will be sidelined for this contest due to a thigh injury.
Attack
Kai Havertz will probably get the nod to lead the charge for Chelsea alongside Mykhailo Mudryk in the final third if he can recover in time for this derby.
Both of them will be instructed to work in the opponent’s half and cause problems for the Arsenal defenders on the counter.
Joao Felix and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the latter stages of the clash if needed.
