Newcastle United will lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon, hoping to pick up all three points on their home turf. The visitors will be coming into the match on the back of a 2-3 loss to Bournemouth, whereas Eddie Howe’s men recorded an unfortunate 3-0 loss to Aston Villa last week.
Cristian Stellini will probably opt for the 3-4-3 formation in midweek; however, he might make a couple of changes for the upcoming clash as Arnaut Danjuma looks likely to make his way back into the starting line-up.
3-4-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Newcastle United
Defence
Hugo Lloris will operate between the sticks for the upcoming fixture. The France shot-stopper would hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Sunday.
Cristian Romero will form the centre-half partnership with Eric Dier, and Clement Lenglet at the heart of Spurs’ backline.
Ivan Perisic should start at the left wing-back position, whereas Pedro Porro will fill in on the other flank as the right wing-back. The full-backs will be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg might start in the holding midfield position and could be assigned more of a defensive role to shield the away side’s back four.
Oliver Skipp will slot into the central midfield role, determined to set up clear-cut goal-scoring chances for the frontmen.
Attack
Son Heung-min and Arnaut Danjuma will take up the wide positions, playing on the left and right-wing, respectively.
Harry Kane will lead the line for Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. The England international will be hoping to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the Newcastle defence that has conceded six goals in their last five league matches.
Dejan Kulusevski could come off the bench to make a cameo appearance in the second forty-five minutes of the match if needed.
