Everton will take on Nottingham Forest as they travel to City Ground on Sunday hoping to get a better result down the road. The Toffees suffered a disappointing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal in their last outing, so they will need to bounce back and give out a better performance in order to get out of the relegation zone.
Sean Dyche will probably opt for the 4-5-1 formation and is expected to keep the changes to a minimum for this away contest. We can expect to see Neal Maupay continuing to lead the line as Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains doubtful about recovering in time for this weekend’s match-up. Michael Keane could drop to the bench making way for Conor Coady in the defensive third.
4-5-1 Everton Predicted XI Vs Nottingham Forest
Defence
Jordan Pickford will continue to feature between the sticks for Everton hoping to keep a clean sheet after conceding four goals versus the Gunners in his last league outing. James Tarkowski will form the centre-half partnership with Conor Coady at the heart of Everton’s backline as they focus on keeping things tidy at the back throughout the game.
Seamus Coleman will try to put in a tireless display at the right-back position while Vitaliy Mykolenko hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to defend their penalty box well to stop the opposition attackers from creating too many chances inside their halves.
Michael Keane and Mason Holgate will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure will anchor the midfield as they look to dominate possession in the central areas. All three of them will need to protect their backline away from home.
Dwight McNeil will keep his place on the left flank while Alex Iwobi looks to catch the eye as the right-sided wide player.
Tom Davies and Demari Gray will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Neal Maupay will spearhead Dyche’s attack on his own up top. He will have to find a way to cause a few headaches for the Nottingham defenders in the final third.
As mentioned earlier, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to return in time for this game as he is still recovering from a thigh problem.
