According to a report from Football.London, West Ham United are speculated to be interested in Gabriel Sara of Norwich City. The Brazilian has impressed in his first season in English football after moving to Carrow Road from Sao Paulo for an initial £6 million fee last summer.
Sara’s Impressive Numbers For Norwich City So Far This Season
Sara is having a decent campaign with the Championship side after producing a run of eye-catching performances at the centre of their midfield. The talented youngster has registered six goals and four assists in 34 appearances for Norwich City this season on all fronts.
The 23-year-old has proven his worth at the centre of the park by averaging 1.1 tackles, 1.5 shots, 1.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the second division of English football. He has also been tidy with his ball distribution, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 79.7% in the second tier of league football (stats via whoscored).
Sara has only joined Norwich in the last summer transfer window, signing from Sao Paulo for a reported £6 million on a contract until the end of the 2025/26 season. Hence, West Ham would have to agree to the terms of the Championship outfit in order to convince them to sell him at the end of this season.
Should Moyes Bring Him To West Ham United?
Sara’s playstyle is characterized by his excellent ball control, quick footwork, and ability to create chances for his teammates. He is an excellent passer of the ball and has a keen eye for goal, making him a valuable asset to any team. One of his biggest strengths is his ability to read the game and anticipate the movements of his opponents. He is a skilful tackler and has a good sense of timing, which allows him to intercept passes and regain possession of the ball for his side.
His arrival at the London Stadium could bring more bite and steel to the midfield department. Sara could replace Declan Rice in the central areas if he can adapt to the level of the Premier League and establish himself as a key player under David Moyes.
With the current captain set to exit this summer, the East London club are in dire need of midfield reinforcements, and Gabriel could prove to be a decent replacement. Hence, Moyes should consider making an enticing offer, one which Norwich City cannot refuse, in order to bring him aboard at the end of this season.
