Manchester United will entertain Fulham at Old Trafford this Sunday as they try to secure a positive result in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. The Red Devils managed to earn a narrow 1-0 win away at Real Betis in midweek which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Erik ten Hag will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong team for this game. Both Raphael Varane and Marcel Sabitzer will play from the start of this cup game at the Theatre of Dreams.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham
Defence
David de Gea will feature in between the sticks for the Mancunian giants after he kept a clean sheet in his last outing. Lisandro Martinez will resume his defensive partnership with Raphael Varane at the centre of Man United’s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Diogo Dalot will fill in as the right-back while Luke Shaw hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to impress in the opposition half and engineer some decent chances for their teammates up top.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Marcel Sabitzer and Fred will anchor the midfield for Man United as they try to dominate the ball at the centre of the park and orchestrate some clear-cut chances in the final third.
The gifted trio of Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford will function just ahead of them as part of ten Hag’s attack. Fernandes will have to carry most of the creative burden while Rashford looks to threaten the Fulham goal from the right flank.
Casemiro is suspended for this game. However, Scott McTominay and Anthony Elanga will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if ten Hag decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Wout Weghorst will lead the charge for the Mancunian outfit on the attacking end of the pitch. He needs a goal to boost his confidence, so this cup game versus the Cottagers could be a good chance for him to find some form before the international break.
