Barcelona will lock horns with Elche at the Estadio Martínez Valero this weekend as they hope to pick up all three points on the road in La Liga. The Catalan giants managed to secure an impressive 2-1 win over Real Madrid before the international break which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Xavi will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a few changes to his starting XI for this game. Eric Garcia, Marcos Alonso and Jordi Alba are all expected to play from the start of this match against Elche this weekend.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Elche
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will function in goal for the Catalan club after conceding one goal in his last outing in La Liga. Eric Garcia will operate alongside Marcos Alonso at the centre of Barca‘s backline as they try to keep the Elche attackers at bay this weekend.
Jules Kounde will fill in as the right-back while Jordi Alba hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to put in a good performance going forward so that they can engineer some decent chances in the final third.
Andreas Christensen will be sidelined for this game due to a calf injury.
Midfield
Gavi, Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto will make up Xavi’s midfield as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. They will also have to move the ball well and engineer some clear-cut chances in the Elche half.
Frenkie de Jong will be sidelined for this game due to a hamstring problem. However, Franck Kessie will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if Xavi decides to call upon his services.
Attack
Ansu Fati will get another chance to shine as the left-sided wide player while Ferran Torres looks to make a difference from the right.
Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the Catalan club on the attacking end of the pitch. The Polish striker has to find a way to threaten the Elche goal if Barca want to earn a convincing victory in this weekend’s contest away from home.
