Liverpool will lock horns with Manchester United as they welcome the Red Devils to Anfield on Sunday hoping to secure all three points from this home encounter. The Reds will come into the match on the back of a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the last outing, so they will be in high spirits going ahead into the contest this weekend.
Jurgen Klopp will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this match-up. Diogo Jota could drop to the bench making way for Cody Gapko down the middle while Andrew Robertson replaces Konstantinos Tsimikas in the left-back position.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted XI Vs Manchester United
Defence
Alisson Becker will continue to feature in between the sticks for the Reds after keeping a clean sheet in his last league outing.
Ibrahima Konate will resume his defensive partnership with Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of Liverpool’s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will keep his place as the right-back while Andrew Robertson replaces Tsimikas on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them need to carry most of the creative burden for the Reds from the wide areas.
Tsimikas and Joel Matip will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Stefan Bajcetic, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson will make up Liverpool’s midfield as they try to dominate the possession in the middle of the park. They will have to find a way to create more opportunities for their teammates in front of the goal.
Naby Keita is doubtful of recovering in time for this important fixture but Harvey Elliott will be available on the bench as he waits for the chance to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Darwin Nunez will keep his place on the left wing while Mohamed Salah looks to make a difference from the right. Both of them need to stretch United’s backline to provide support from the wide areas.
Cody Gapko will lead the line for the Merseyside outfit on the attacking end of the field. He would be desperate to find the back of the net and get his name on the scoresheet this weekend.
Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if the Reds are in need of a goal by then.
