In a recent interview with DAZN Bet, Florent Malouda urged his former club Chelsea to land Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane. Malouda said,
“Chelsea should definitely join the race for Harry Kane. Kane is a world-class player who knows the Premier League, and it is an era where Chelsea need a striker with his goalscoring record and the ambition to win trophies.
“If Kane ever leaves Tottenham, it will be because of the lack of trophies. Kane would be a great signing, but I’d be surprised if he left Tottenham for Chelsea because of the rivalry. It’s not like leaving Tottenham for Arsenal, but to leave Tottenham for Chelsea, I’d be surprised but anything is possible. He’s a great option for any club in the Premier League, and for Chelsea he’d be a great pick.”
Kane’s Impressive Numbers At The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium This Season
Kane is having another impressive season at the North London club as he has led the line well for them up top. The England international has banged in 20 goals and grabbed four assists in 37 matches for Tottenham during this campaign on all fronts.
The 29-year-old has been a consistent performer on the attacking end of the field based on his average of 3.5 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he has sometimes lacked quality when distributing the ball in the opposition half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 71.8% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Is Kane A Dream Option For Chelsea Boss Graham Potter?
Kane excels at finding space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He remains a prolific finisher in front of the opponent’s goal and can create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. The English centre-forward is also quite intelligent when making runs in and around the opponent’s penalty box. However, he is yet to win a major trophy at the highest level.
We can expect Kane to add plenty of goals to Chelsea‘s attack. He could even help the Blues challenge for some top honours over the next few years.
At 29, Kane has still got a lot of football left in his locker and would be a dream option for the West London club to consider during the summer transfer period. Chelsea boss Graham Potter is in dire need of more firepower, so the Tottenham superstar will fit his needs perfectly in this off-season.
