Newcastle United gear up to face Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final which will be held in Wembley Stadium on Sunday night. The Magpies will come into the match on the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Liverpool in their last outing, so they will be looking to produce a better result. On the other hand, the Red Devils recorded a splendid 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the Europa League to book their place in the round of 16, so they will be in high spirits heading into this contest.
Eddie Howe should make use of the 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Bruno Guimaraes will make his way back into the starting XI after completing his suspension while Nick Pope remains sidelined having picked up a red card in his last outing.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted XI Vs Manchester United
Defence
Loris Karius will function in between the sticks for the Magpies as Pope remains suspended for the game. Sven Botman will continue to play alongside Fabian Schar at the centre of the Newcastle backline as they focus on stopping the United attackers from causing too many problems during the game.
Kieran Trippier will operate as the right-back while Dan Burn hopes to put in a dominant performance on the other side as the left-back. Both the Newcastle full-backs will be given the responsibility to contain the Liverpool wingers and stop them from creating chances from the wide areas.
Matt Targett will offer cover for the defensive positions as he takes a spot on the bench.
Midfield
Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton will operate in the central areas as they try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park and engineer some decent chances in the final third.
Ryan Fraser and Jacob Murphy will take a spot on the bench as they look to provide cover for the midfield positions.
Attack
Allan Saint-Maximin could get a chance to function as the left-sided wide player while Miguel Almiron hopes to put his pace to good use on the right flank. Both of them would have to find a way to create more opportunities in front of the goal if the Magpies are to win the Carabao cup.
Callum Wilson will lead the charge for the Tyneside club on the attacking end of the field. The English striker will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net.
Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for the chance to shine in the final quarter of the game if Newcastle are in need of a goal by then.
