Aston Villa will lock horns with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon as they hope to earn a good result on the road. The Villans suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Arsenal recently, so they would be eager to put on a much-improved showing versus the Toffees this weekend.
Unai Emery will set his team up in a 4-4-2 formation and could keep changes to a minimum for this game. Hence, we can once again expect to see Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia lead the line for the West Midlands club up top.
4-4-2 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will function in goal for the Villans after shipping in four goals against his old club recently. Tyrone Mings will resume his centre-back partnership with Ezri Konsa at the heart of the Aston Villa defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the 90 minutes.
Matty Cash will operate as the right-back while Alex Moreno hopes to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Emery will ask both of them to defend their penalty box well and try to create some decent chances going forward.
Calum Chambers and Ashley Young will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz will anchor the midfield along with Boubacar Kamara as they focus on dominating the midfield battle and creating some inviting chances for their teammates up top.
Philippe Coutinho will carry most of the creative burden for the West Midlands club on the left flank. John McGinn will try to give a good account of himself as the right-sided wide player. Both of them need to work hard at both ends of the field if the Villans are to come out on top this weekend.
Jacob Ramsey will be named on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to impress in the second half if needed.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will spearhead the Aston Villa attack along with Emiliano Buendia on the attacking end of the field. Both of them would be eager to find the back of the net when they lace up to face off against the Everton defenders this weekend.
Leon Bailey will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if the Villans are in need of a goal by then.
