Everton will face off against Liverpool at Anfield on Monday night as they look to grab all three points on the road. The Toffees managed to earn an impressive 1-0 win over Arsenal earlier this month which will give them some much-needed confidence ahead of this game.
Sean Dyche will probably opt for a 4-5-1 formation and could name a strong team for this Merseyside derby. The Toffees boss could keep changes to a minimum for this game which means that Dominic Calvert-Lewin could get a chance to spearhead Everton’s attack on his own up top.
4-5-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Liverpool
Defence
Jordan Pickford will feature in between the sticks for the Merseysiders after he secured a clean sheet in his last league outing. Conor Coady will function alongside James Tarkowski at the centre of the Everton backline as they try to stop the Liverpool attackers from finding the back of the net this Monday.
Seamus Coleman is expected to keep his spot at right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to keep things solid at the back so that they can restrict the opposition from creating too many opportunities from the flanks.
Mason Holgate will be named on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Dyche could choose to go with a central midfield three of Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure as they hope to make life difficult for the opposition in middle of the park. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if Everton are to come out on top in this derby.
Dwight McNeil will be a nailed-on start on the right flank while Alex Iwobi looks to produce a hard-working performance as the left-sided wide player.
Demarai Gray and Tom Davies will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the charge for the Toffees on the attacking end of the pitch. He has to figure out a way to cause a few headaches for the Liverpool centre-backs this Monday night.
Neal Maupay will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the contest if Dyche opts to call upon his services.
