In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Inter Milan ace Denzel Dumfries. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are hoping to land the Dutch wide player in the summer.
Dumfries’ Impressive Form In Italian Football This Season
Dumfries is having a solid campaign at San Siro as he has produced a series of impressive performances on the right side of Inter’s midfield. The 26-year-old has found the back of the net twice and earned three assists in 25 matches for the Italian side this season on all fronts.
The Rotterdam-born talent has given a good account of himself on the right flank based on his average of 0.7 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 0.8 clearances, 1.1 shots and 1.1 key passes per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 78.6% in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Milan club is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Los Blancos will have to make a big offer if they want to recruit the Dutch talent at the end of this season.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Snap Dumfries Up Next Summer?
Dumfries is a good tackler of the ball and can make some timely interceptions for his team on the defensive end of the field. He usually clears the danger when needed and can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range.
Dumfries is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-back if his manager asks him to do so. The Netherlands international can also engineer some meaningful chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball when he is playing well on the pitch. However, he needs to work on improving his decision-making in and around the opponent’s penalty box.
We can expect Dumfries to enhance the overall quality of Carlo Ancelotti‘s squad. He is good enough to earn a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and would serve as an upgrade over Dani Carvajal who has entered the final stage of his Real Madrid career.
Thus, Los Blancos would be wise to orchestrate a move to snap Dumfries up during the summer transfer window as he has what it takes to help the Madrid giants compete for even more major trophies in the coming seasons.
