In a recent report, Libertad Digital claimed that Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic was keen on joining Real Madrid. It has been mentioned that the Serbian talent wanted to seal a move to Spain to play for Los Blancos last month.
Vlahovic’s Campaign Of Mixed Emotions In Italian Football
Vlahovic is having an up-and-down season at the Allianz Stadium as he has struggled to be consistent with his offensive numbers recently. The Serbian centre-forward has banged in seven goals and grabbed two assists in 16 appearances for the Turin outfit during this campaign on all fronts.
The former Partizan talent has caught the eye at times in the final third based on his average of 2.8 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been a bit sloppy when distributing the ball up top, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 70.9% in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Juventus is set to run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, it won’t be easy for Los Blancos to land him on the cheap next summer.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Move In For Vlahovic?
Vlahovic is proficient at finding space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal and has got the vision to engineer a few inviting opportunities for his teammates in the final third. Standing at 1.90, Vlahovic has got a strong frame and can win his fair share of 50-50 aerial duels up top.
The Serbian sensation can also make a few clever runs with the ball in the final third. However, he has to find a way to be more productive in front of the opponent’s goal.
Vlahovic has got the skillset to be a success story at a top club like Real Madrid. At 23, there is still a lot of room for him to grow as a footballer. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Spanish capital.
We can expect the Juventus ace to add more goals to Carlo Ancelotti‘s frontline and serve as an ideal, long-term replacement for Karim Benzema who has entered the final stage of his playing career at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. With all things considered, the Madrid giants would be wise to move in for Vlahovic at the end of this campaign.
