Everton will welcome Aston Villa at Goodison Park this Saturday afternoon as they focus on securing a good result at home in the Premier League. The Toffees managed to earn a narrow 1-0 win over Leeds United recently which will give them a lot of confidence ahead of this game.
Sean Dyche will probably opt for a 4-5-1 formation and could name an unchanged first XI for this clash versus the Villans. Hence, Neal Maupay will once again lead the line for the Merseyside club in the final third.
4-5-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Aston Villa
Defence
Jordan Pickford will function in between the sticks for the Toffees after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. James Tarkowski will continue to feature alongside Conor Coady at the centre of the Everton backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Seamus Coleman will continue to play as the right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko hopes to give a good account of himself as the left-back. Both of them could get the license to get forward and join in on the attack when they can.
Nathan Patterson is a major doubt for this game as he continues to recover from a knee injury. However, Mason Holgate will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Amadou Onana will be in a race against time to be fit for this game. He could get the nod to start alongside Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure at the centre of Dyche’s midfield. Their main focus would be to make life difficult for the opposition in the middle of the park and feed some decent through balls to the front players.
Dwight McNeil will get another opportunity to impress on the left flank while Alex Iwobi hopes to prove his worth as the right-sided wide player. Both of them need to stretch the pitch well for Everton in the opposition half and create some decent chances up top.
Tom Davies will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the second half if required.
Attack
Neal Maupay will lead the line for the Toffees in the final third. He has to find a way to cause a few problems for the Aston Villa centre-halves this weekend.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will definitely miss this game due to a hamstring injury.
