Everton will face off against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this Wednesday night as they try to bounce back with a positive result in the Premier League. The Toffees suffered a poor 2-0 loss at home versus Aston Villa which will dampen their spirits ahead of this clash on the road.
Sean Dyche will once again opt for a 4-1-4-1 formation and could be inclined to make some changes to his starting XI for this game. Tom Davies and Demarai Gray could get a chance to impress from the start in this midweek contest in North London.
4-1-4-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Jordan Pickford will feature in goal for Everton after conceding a couple of goals versus the Gunners in his last league outing. James Tarkowski will resume his centre-half partnership with Conor Coady at the heart of Everton’s backline as they focus on keeping things tidy at the back throughout the 90 minutes.
Seamus Coleman will try to put in a battling display at right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them have to defend their penalty box well if they are to stop Arsenal from creating too many chances from the wide areas.
Michael Keane and Mason Holgate will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Idrissa Gueye will act as the primary defensive midfielder for Everton while Tom Davies and Abdoulaye Doucoure play just ahead of him as the box-to-box midfielders.
All three of them need to work their socks off at the centre of the park and try their best to protect their backline away from home.
Demarai Gray could get a chance to impress on the left flank while Dwight McNeil looks to catch the eye as the right-sided wide player.
Amadou Onana and Alex Iwobi will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Neal Maupay will spearhead Dyche’s attack on his own up top. He will have to find a way to cause a few headaches for the Arsenal defenders in this midweek game.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to recover in time for this game as he is still recovering from a thigh problem.
