Leeds United will entertain Southampton at Elland Road this Saturday as they try to collect maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Whites suffered a narrow 1-0 loss away at Everton recently which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.
The West Yorkshire club will set themselves up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and would make one change to their starting XI for this game. Liam Cooper will get a chance to play from the start while Maximilian Wöber makes way for him and drops to the bench.
4-2-3-1 Leeds United Predicted Lineup To Face Southampton
Defence
Illan Meslier will feature in goal for the Whites after conceding a goal in his last outing. As mentioned earlier, Liam Cooper will get a chance to play from the start alongside Robin Koch at the centre of the Leeds backline as they try to keep the Southampton attackers quiet during the 90 minutes.
Luke Ayling will get the nod to impress as the right-back while Junior Firpo hopes to put in a good performance on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Maximilian Wöber is a slight doubt for this game and could be named on the bench as a precaution. Rasmus Kristensen will also offer cover for the right-back position on the bench.
Midfield
Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on dominating the battle at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Wilfried Gnonto, Jack Harrison and Crysencio Summerville will operate just ahead of them as part of the Leeds attack. Gnonto and Summerville will have to find a way to stretch the Southampton defence out on the flanks and engineer some inviting chances in the final third.
Brenden Aaronson will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he hopes to catch the eye in the second half if Leeds are in need of a goal.
Attack
Patrick Bamford will once again lead the line for the Yorkshire giants on the attacking end of the pitch. The English striker would be eager to impress when he laces up to face off against the opposition centre-back this weekend.
Sam Greenwood and Georginio Rutter will be available for selection on the bench and might come on in the final quarter of the game if required.
