The Serie A title race is all but over with Napoli enjoying a massive 15-point lead over Inter Milan at the top of the league table, having played 23 matches each.
With a lot of games still left to be played during this campaign, let’s take a look at the five teams with the most Serie A titles to their name.
Juventus (36 Titles)
Juventus have been the most successful club in Italian football after lifting the Serie A title 36 times in their history. Their most recent win came in the 2019-20 season.
Inter Milan (19 Titles)
Inter Milan have won the Italian first division 19 times so far with their most recent triumph coming in the 2020-21 season. The Milan outfit currently find themselves 15 points behind Napoli in the Serie A title race, so the Inter fans might have to wait a while before they can see their club win the league for the 20th time in their history.
AC Milan (19 Titles)
AC Milan have also won the Serie A title 19 times in their history. The Italian giants are the current champions after lifting the famous trophy last season.
Genoa (9 Titles)
Genoa have been champions of Italy nine times thus far. They won their last Serie A title in the 1923-24 campaign.
Torino, Pro Vercelli, Bologna (7 Titles)
Torino, Pro Vercelli and Bologna have all won the Serie A title seven times so far. Torino’s last triumph came in the 1975-76 season.
Pro Vercelli’s most recent title win came in the 1921-22 campaign while Bologna were champions in the 1963-64 season.
It seems like Napoli are going to win the Serie A this season as they are sitting pretty at the top of the league table with a healthy 15-point lead. If the Naples club can end up winning it, it will be the third league title in their history.
