Real Madrid will welcome Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium this Saturday evening as they try to pick up all three points at home in La Liga. Los Blancos managed to secure a brilliant 5-2 win over Liverpool at Anfield earlier this week, so they will be in high spirits ahead of this Madrid derby.
Carlo Ancelotti will set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a couple of changes to his starting XI for this game. Both Nacho and Aurelien Tchouameni could get a chance to impress from the start in this league clash in Madrid.
4-3-3 Real Madrid Predicted Lineup To Face Atletico Madrid
Defence
Thibaut Courtois will feature in goal for Real Madrid after shipping in a couple of goals in midweek. Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger will operate as Ancelotti’s first-team centre-backs as they try to keep the Atletico Madrid attackers frustrated during the game.
Dani Carvajal will function as the right-back while Nacho hopes to give a good account of himself as a makeshift left-back. Both of them need to be solid at the back if Los Blancos are to keep a clean sheet in this derby.
Alvaro Odriozola will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga will make up Ancelotti’s midfield as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
Kroos and Camavinga will have to carry most of the creative workload for the Madrid outfit in the opponent’s half.
Luka Modric will get a well-deserved rest on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if Ancelotti opts to call upon his services.
Attack
Vinicius Junior will be a nailed-on start on the left flank following his man-of-the-match-worthy display at Anfield recently. Federico Valverde would try to put in a hard-working performance on the right wing.
Karim Benzema is expected to lead the charge for Ancelotti’s side in the final third. The French striker scored a second-half brace versus the Reds which will give him a lot of confidence ahead of this Madrid derby.
Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they await their opportunity to make an impact in the latter stages of the contest if needed.
