In a recent report, The Athletic revealed that Real Madrid are prepared to move in for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe. It has been claimed that Los Blancos could make a move to sign the French forward if he decides to leave PSG in the future.
Mbappe’s Outstanding Numbers In French Football
Mbappe is having a brilliant campaign for both his club and country as he has been responsible for producing several match-winning displays in the final third. The 24-year-old has banged in 20 goals and grabbed five assists in 23 matches for the French club this season on all fronts.
The Bondy-born sensation has been a consistent performer in the final third based on his average of 4.1 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He has even been excellent when linking up play in the opponent’s half after making 83.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the French club is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, it makes sense for Los Blancos to move in for him in the future as he gets closer to the end of his PSG contract.
Is Mbappe A Dream Option For Real Madrid?
Mbappe excels at generating space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He is a deadly finisher in front of the opposition goal and has got the vision to create some decent plays for others around him in the final third. Mbappe is primarily a centre-forward but can also play as a winger if required.
The French talent can even make a few dangerous runs with the ball on the attacking end of the field. However, he has a low work rate which is something that the player needs to address if he wants to taste more success at the highest level.
Still, there is no doubt that Mbappe will be a dream option for Los Blancos to consider if the French superstar decides to leave PSG in the future.
Mbappe has what it takes to be an ideal successor to Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. He could even help Real Madrid challenge for some top honours in the coming seasons. Thus, Carlo Ancelotti should focus on going all out to secure the services of Mbappe despite missing out on him recently as he is a generational talent and has got the skillset to bring a lot of goals to the Madrid club’s frontline.
