Barcelona will face Real Betis as they travel to King Fahd International Stadium on Thursday night for the Spanish Super Cup encounter. The Catalan giants will come into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in La Liga, so they will need to produce a better result this time around.
Xavi will probably make use of the 4-3-3 formation and he is expected to make a couple of changes, allowing Jordi Alba to start in the left-back position while Ansu Fati also features in the left-wing spot to support Robert Lewandowski in the final third.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted XI Vs Real Betis
Defence
Marc Andre ter Stegen will function in between the sticks for the Catalan club as he hopes to keep a clean sheet again. Joules Kounde will play alongside Ronald Araujo at the heart of Xavi’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.
As mentioned earlier, Jordi Alba will look to give a good account of himself as the left-back while Alejandro Balde hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the right-back. Both of them would be eager to join in on the attack and create some inviting chances from the wide areas.
Andreas Christensen will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Gavi, Sergio Busquets and Pedri will make up Barca’s midfield as they try to dominate the game at the centre of the park and orchestrate some good openings on the attacking end of the field. Pedri and Gavi will act as Barcelona’s main playmakers inside the opponent’s half.
Frenkie de Jong and Franck Kessie will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second half if Xavi decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Ansu Fati is expected to get the nod to operate on the left flank while Ousmane Dembele hopes to put his pace to good use on the right wing.
Robert Lewandowski will act as the focal point of Xavi’s attack. He has to find a way to cause a few problems for the opposition centre-backs in this away encounter.
Memphis Depay will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter half if needed.
