In a recent report, RMC Sport revealed that Leeds United are close to recruiting Hoffenheim talent Georginio Rutter. It has been claimed that the Whites are eager to acquire the services of the French forward.
Rutter’s Impressive Run Of Form For Hoffenheim This Season
The 20-year-old has managed to catch the eye at times with his performances in German football during this campaign. The former Rennes youngster has found the back of the net on two occasions and secured three assists in 17 matches for his current employers this season across all competitions.
Rutter has led the line well for Hoffenheim in the final third based on his average 1.8 shots, 0.7 key passes and 2.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. However, he needs to find a way to improve his ball distribution after making 63.9% of his attempted passes in the top tier of German football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena is set to expire in the summer of 2026. Thus, it makes sense for the player to seal a move to Leeds United before the end of this winter transfer window.
Is Rutter A Good Option For Leeds United Boss Jesse Marsch?
Rutter can strike the ball well from all ranges and is a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. He has got the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates on the attacking end of the pitch.
The French sensation can even complete some dangerous dribbles with the ball in the final third. However, he has to find a way to improve his link-up play in and around the opponent’s penalty box.
We can expect Rutter to bring more firepower to Jesse Marsch‘s frontline at Elland Road and increase competition for places within his match-day squad.
At 20, the Plescop-born sensation has got the potential to become a top player in his position someday. Thus, he will be a great, long-term option for Leeds United to consider during this January transfer window.
Marsch has got managerial experience under his belt to help Rutter and get the best out of him at the West Yorkshire club in the coming seasons. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if Leeds end up getting a deal over the line for him this month.
