Barcelona faced off against Real Betis in the Supercopa de Espana earlier tonight as they looked to secure a victory at the King Fahd Stadium. The Catalan outfit made a decent start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 40th minute courtesy of Robert Lewandowski’s goal as Barca went into the half-time interval with a 1-0 lead.
Nabil Fekir equalised for Real Betis in the 77th minute as the contest went to extra time. Ansu Fati gave Barcelona the lead once again in the 93rd minute which was canceled out by Lorenzo Garcia’s goal just eight minutes later. The clash ended 2-2 after extra time.
Xavi’s men ended up winning the cup contest on penalties by a 4-2 scoreline.
