Newcastle United will lock horns with Leicester City at St. James’ Park on Tuesday night, hoping to pick up a positive result on their home turf. The Magpies will be coming into the match on the back of an unfortunate 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday, whereas the Foxes recorded a 1-0 win against Gillingham.
Eddie Howe will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation; however, he is expected to make a couple of changes for the upcoming clash as Allan Saint-Maximin looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup Vs Leicester City
Defence
Martin Dubravka will continue to operate in between the sticks for the hosts. The Slovak shot-stopper would hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Tuesday.
Eddie Howe is expected to field the defensive duo of Dan Burn and Jamaal Lascelles at the heart of the Magpies’ backline. Their main objective would be to track and close down the potential openings the Leicester front-men might create.
Jamal Lewis could feature at the left wing-back spot, whereas Javier Manquillo will fill in on the other flank as the right wing-back.
Midfield
Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock are expected to start in the central midfield positions, whereas Elliot Anderson will slot in as the attacking midfielder. The trio would be determined to set up some clear-cut goal-scoring chances for the frontmen.
Joelinton will have to settle for a place on the bench but could come on in the second half of the game if needed.
Attack
Allan Saint-Maximin and Jacob Murphy will take up the wide positions, playing down the right and left wing, respectively.
Aleksander Isak will lead the line for the hosts against Leicester City on Tuesday. The striker would hope to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the defence that has conceded six goals in their last five matches across all competitions.
