Poland’s Szymon Marciniak has been named as the referee for the World Cup final. He turned professional as a referee back in 2006 and has officiated over 200 matches in the Ekstraklasa, which is Poland’s top division. This has been Marciniak’s second World Cup tournament after he also took charge in the 2018 version of the competition.

Szymon Marciniak is a Polish professional referee who has taken charge of over 200 top-flight games in Poland. The 2022 FIFA World Cup is his second World Cup competition after he also participated in the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.
Marciniak will now get the honour of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup final which will soon happen between Argentina and France at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar this Sunday.
Marciniak has previously taken charge of France’s group-stage win against Denmark on November 26. He also hosted Argentina’s last-16 victory over Australia earlier this month.
