He turned professional as a referee back in 2006 and has officiated over 200 matches in the Ekstraklasa, which is Poland’s top division. This has been Marciniak’s second World Cup tournament after he also took charge in the 2018 version of the competition.

Marciniak will now get the honour of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup final which will soon happen between Argentina and France at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar this Sunday.
Marciniak has previously taken charge of France’s group-stage win against Denmark on November 26. He also hosted Argentina’s last-16 victory over Australia earlier this month.
