In a recent report, Fichajes offered an update on Real Madrid and their pursuit of Bayern Munich whizkid Jamal Musiala. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are keeping tabs on the German international but are unlikely to land him next summer.
Musiala’s Impressive Run Of Form In German Football
Musiala is having another encouraging campaign for the Bavarian club as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them on the attacking end of the pitch. The 19-year-old has banged in 12 goals and grabbed ten assists in 22 matches for the Munich outfit this season across all competitions.
The Stuttgart-born talent has been a consistent performer for his current employers in the final third based on his average of 2.6 shots, 1.8 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 83.9% in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
Musiala is under contract at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2026. Thus, Los Blancos will find it difficult to convince Bayern to part ways with their prized asset at the end of this campaign.
Real Madrid Are Unlikely To Sign Musiala Next Year: Big Blow For Carlo Ancelotti?
Musiala is a decent striker of the ball and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. He has got the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. The German international even managed to catch the eye for his nation in the 2022 FIFA World Cup which was held in Qatar recently. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-sided winger if his manager asks him to do so.
At 19, Musiala is already good enough to secure a regular starting spot in Carlo Ancelotti‘s first XI. Furthermore, he would have been a terrific, long-term acquisition for Los Blancos next summer.
However, Real Madrid are unlikely to convince Bayern Munich to sell the German wonderkid in 2023 which will be a big blow for Ancelotti as he can definitely use someone of his talents at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
All in all, the Madrid outfit now have no choice but to turn their attention to someone else if they want to strengthen their squad this January or at the end of this season.
