Drameh’s Unimpressive Season In English Football
Drameh is having a frustrating campaign at Elland Road as he has struggled to earn regular game time in the Premier League. The 21-year-old has made two appearances for the Whites this season, receiving just 160 minutes of playing time on all fronts.
The London-born talent has featured in just seven senior matches for Leeds so far but is yet to score or assist a goal for them. Hence, it makes sense for him to opt for a change of scenery soon in search of more first-team minutes in the coming seasons.
His current contract at Elland Road is set to run out in the summer of 2024. Hence, the Magpies might have a good shot at recruiting him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.
Is Drameh A Good Choice For Newcastle United?
Drameh is a solid tackler of the ball and can make some crucial interceptions for his team when he is playing well on the pitch. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when required but needs to find a way to be more productive in the final third. The English sensation has often found himself behind Rasmus Kristensen in Jesse Marsch’s pecking order which has harmed his first-team chances.
At the moment, Drameh is lacking confidence as he has been on the fringes of Leeds’ squad this season. However, there is no denying that he could serve as an ideal understudy to Kieran Trippier if Newcastle United can devise a way to get him on board in 2023.
We can expect Drameh to add more depth to Eddie Howe‘s match-day squad at St. James’ Park. At 21, he has what it takes to become a future star in English football as long as he continues to strive toward improving his all-around game with each season.
Thus, Drameh will be a decent choice for the Tyneside giants to pursue when the transfer window reopens this January or at the end of this season. He will increase competition for places within Newcastle‘s squad and also help them compete across all competitions over the next few years.
