In a recent report from LiverpoolEcho, it was mentioned that Liverpool might have to pay a crazy amount to acquire their midfield target Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. The valuation of the 19-year-old has significantly increased after his impressive performances for England which have helped his nation qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Quarter Finals being held in Qatar. The money now remains an issue as Fenway Sports Group, the owners of Liverpool, remain unsure of their own future with the club.
What Can Bellingham Bring To Liverpool?
Dortmund’s midfield ace remains prolific in the central areas and has already made a name for himself in European football scoring seven goals and producing three assists over twenty appearances including Bundesliga and the Champions League. Furthermore, his exceptional performances in the World Cup only prove that he is truly a generational talent.
The youngster has flourished in Germany during his period with Dortmund and has definitely taken his game to the next level as he’s already being linked to some great names in the football world.
Bellingham would certainly add more quality and bring more creativity to Jurgen Klopp‘s midfield department. Moreover, the England international remains capable of offering something that very few major players can, which is longevity. Being just 19 years old, he would only grow better and could easily play at a high level for a decade if he doesn’t sustain major injuries throughout his career. It explains why the European giants have identified him as a potential target for the upcoming transfer windows.
Could Klopp Successfully Bring Him To Anfield Considering FSG’s Current Situation?
According to LiverpoolEcho, Fenway Sports Group are reportedly seeking potential shareholders for Liverpool and have not ruled out the possibility of selling the club. A partial sale would definitely add more funds to their capital, in turn increasing their budget for the transfer markets but a change in ownership could rule out the possibility of acquiring Jude Bellingham this January or in the summer transfer window.
However, at a time when the owners of the club are considering their long-term future at Anfield, adding an expensive asset such as Bellingham would be a risk that they would not be willing to take. We can only expect the Reds to go for Bellingham after FSG takes a stance on their foreseeable future with the club although that does not mean Manchester City and Real Madrid would back out of the competition if they decide to land him.
