Aston Villa faced off against Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they hoped to cause an upset on the road in the third round of the EFL Cup. The Villans were solid in the first 45 minutes and managed to get into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
Ollie Watkins opened the goal-scoring for the West Midlands club in the 48th minute which was canceled out by Anthony Martial just a minute later. The Villans led again in the 61st minute when Diogo Dalot scored an unfortunate own goal. However, from there on, Man United took over and scored three more times with the help of a goal each from Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay respectively.
