Recent reports from The Sun state that Manchester United are keen on signing Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk in the upcoming transfer window as Erik ten Hag looks set to add to his attacking options.
The Dutch tactician has been keeping an eye on the Ukrainian attacker since his Ajax days; however, Shakhtar Donetsk are set to demand a fee in the region of 85 million Euros in order to let go of their starlet.
On the other hand, Arsenal are believed to be leading the race for Mudryk as positive talks have been held by the league leaders over a potential switch in January.
The Ideal Signing For ten Hag?
Having come through the ranks at Shakhtar Donetsk itself, Mykhailo Mudryk made his debut on 11 May 2022, in the friendly game against Borussia Monchengladbach, scoring his first goal at Borussia Park in Monchengladbach. The 21-year-old forward has made 42 appearances for the Miners so far, scoring ten goals and assisting seventeen more across all competitions.
Even this season, he has managed to put up some awe-inspiring numbers on the board – averaging 1.5 shots, 0.8 key passes, 1.7 dribbles, and 0.7 crosses per ninety minutes in the UEFA Champions League.
“From a purely theoretical fantasy perspective if there was the option of being a bench player for Real Madrid or a starter for Arsenal, I’d probably choose Arsenal, but it’s a tough question that involves a lot of factors.” – said the Ukrainian starlet said in a recent interview.
“I would first want to know from the head coach that even if I wasn’t a guaranteed starter, that I’d receive a chance. Essentially, I need to hear directly from the manager what he envisages my role to be in his side.”
Vlada Sedan (reporter & Oleksandr Zinchenko’s wife): “Does the prospect of playing on the same wing with Zina, playing with another Ukrainian, encourage you too?”
Mudryk: “Yeah, it does.”
Vlada Sedan: “Will you be upset if you don’t get a move in the winter?”
Mudryk: “Yes!”
Manchester United are in dire need of reinforcements in the attacking department – and Mykhailo Mudryk fits the bill perfectly. Hence, the board should go all out for his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
