However, a lot will hinge on Tite and if the Brazil head coach can get the best out of his top players in this upcoming tournament.
With Brazil fans excited about this tournament, let’s take a look at the South American giants’ history in the FIFA World Cup.
When Did The Brazilian National Team First Win The World Cup?
The Brazilian national side won their first World Cup in 1958 when Pele scored a brace to help them get over the line against Sweden in Sweden in the final.
Tite’s men will now look to repeat the feat of winning another World Cup in Qatar later this year.
How Many Times Has Brazil Won The World Cup?
Brazil is the most successful team in World Cup history as they have won it five times so far. As mentioned earlier, they won the competition for the first time in 1958 before going on to lift it again in 1962. Eight years later, Pele won the World Cup for the third time with Brazil.
Dunga inspired his country to win it again in 1994. Brazil’s last World Cup came way back in 2002 when Cafu led them to their fifth World Cup win which is still the best record among all FIFA-recognized countries.
It remains to be seen whether the current Brazilian national team is good enough to win the competition again for the sixth time this year.
