Arsenal entertained FC Zurich at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they focused on collecting maximum points on the road in the UEFA Europa League. The Gunners made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 17th minute when Kieran Tierney got his name on the scoresheet with a superb strike. Mikel Arteta’s men sat on their lead well and went into the half-time interval 1-0 up on the scoreline.
The home team controlled the game well in the second half and managed to grind out a narrow 1-0 victory at North London.

Holding got stuck in with some crunching tackles during the game and engineered one key chance going forward.

The Brazilian defender made a lot of crucial clearances inside his half and was a strong presence in the air.
LB: Kieran Tierney – 8/10
Tierney did what was required of him at the back and caused a few problems for the opposition defenders as well. He ended up scoring the only goal of the game with an excellent strike in the 17th minute which gave Arsenal all three points.
CM: Fabio Viera – 7/10
He earned the ball back once and created some inviting chances for others around him.
CM: Mohamed Elneny – 6.5/10
Elneny anchored the midfield well but lacked quality in the opponent’s half.
CM: Albert Sambi Lokonga – 7/10
He got stuck in with some solid tackles and made one good run with the ball.
RW: Reiss Nelson – 6.5/10
Nelson was not shy of making a tackle and made one meaningful chance in the final third.
ST: Gabriel Jesus – 6.5/10
The Brazilian striker had a few bright moments in the game but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
LW: Eddie Nketiah – 6/10
Nketiah was always willing to have a strike at goal but was a bit wasteful with his finishing.

He added more bite and steel to Arteta’s midfield.
