Leeds United will welcome Arsenal at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon as they look to earn maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Whites suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace last weekend which has drained their confidence ahead of this clash versus the Gunners.
Jesse Marsch will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his starting XI for this game. Luis Sinisterra could get a chance to play from the start while Patrick Bamford drops to the bench.
4-2-3-1 Leeds United Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Illan Meslier will feature in between the sticks for the West Yorkshire outfit after shipping in a couple of goals versus the Eagles recently. Robin Koch will operate alongside Liam Cooper at the centre of Leeds United’s backline as they look to keep the in-form Arsenal attackers at bay during the game.
Rasmus Kristensen will fill in as the right-back while Pascal Struijk hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to keep a solid defensive shape at the back so that they can restrict the opposition from causing problems for them from the flanks.
Luke Ayling will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Marc Roca and Tyler Adams will have to anchor the midfield with conviction if they want to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Jack Harrison, Brenden Aaronson and Luis Sinisterra will function just ahead of them as part of the Leeds attack. Harrison and Sinisterra would have to find a way to cause a few headaches for the Arsenal defenders from the wide areas.
Mateusz Klich will have to be content on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to make an impact in the second half if Marsch decides to call upon his services.
Attack
Rodrigo will be given the responsibility to spearhead the Whites’ attack on his own up top. He has to find a way to be tidy with his link-play in and around the opponent’s penalty area. The Spaniard will once again be Marsch’s best hope for a goal this weekend.
Joe Gelhardt will be named on the bench and might come on to give a good account of himself in the final quarter of the match if required.
