Inter Milan will lock horns with Barcelona at the Nou Camp this Wednesday night as they look to earn maximum points on their travels in the UEFA Champions League. The Milan giants managed to secure a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sassuolo last weekend which will keep them in high spirits for this game.
Simone Inzaghi will set his side up in a 3-5-2 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team. Henrikh Mkhitaryan could get a chance to play from the start while Kristjan Asllani makes way for him and drops to the bench.
3-5-2 Inter Milan Predicted Lineup To Face Barcelona
Defence
Andre Onana will feature in between the sticks for the Catalan giants after he shipped in one goal in his last appearance. Inzaghi could name a back three of Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni as they focus on keeping a clean sheet during the 90 minutes. However, it won’t be easy for them to keep Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski quiet this Wednesday night.
Francesco Acerbi will offer cover for the defensive positions on the Inter Milan bench.
Midfield
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella will anchor the midfield for Inter as they try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them need to orchestrate a few decent chances for their teammates on the attacking end of the pitch.
Federico Dimarco could get an opportunity to impress as the left-sided wide player while Denzel Dumfries hopes to catch the eye from the right. Both of them need to stretch the field on the counter.
Roberto Gagliardini and Kristjan Asllani will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Lisandro Martinez and Eden Dzeko will be given the responsibility to lead the line for the Italian outfit in the final third. Dzeko managed to score a brace versus Sassuolo which would give him a lot of confidence ahead of this Champions League game on the road.
Martinez will also have to put in a productive display if Inter are to stand a chance of securing a positive result this week.
Dennis Curatolo will be named on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to influence the game as a late-game substitute if the Italians are in need of a goal by then.
