Manchester City will face Southampton on Saturday afternoon as they welcome them to the Etihad Stadium. The Sky Blues recorded an emphatic 6-3 victory over Manchester United as they thrashed them at Old Trafford last weekend and come into this match on the back of a 5-0 win against Copenhagen in the UCL Group G match-up. On the other hand, the Saints were defeated 2-1 by Everton in their last Premier League outing.
Manchester City Vs Southampton: Talking Tactics
Pep Guardiola will be looking to extend the club’s winning ways as he returns to the 4-3-3 formation while making a couple of tweaks to the starting XI. Both Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne would make their return as they play from the start after getting their well-deserved rest in the last outing.
Ralph Hasenhuttl will probably opt for the 4-4-2 formation as Che Adams and Sekou Mara continue their two-man striking partnership up top while James Ward-Prowse looks to create decent opportunities from the midfield.
