In a recent report from Manchester Evening News, it was mentioned that Manchester City have the financial means to bring in Kylian Mbappe in the next transfer window. It is understood that the French forward desperately wants to exit from Parc Des Princes as he feels betrayed by the higher-ups. The Sky Blues are said to have the cash to bring him to the Etihad and pair him with Erling Haaland up front.
Mbappe’s Impressive Run Of Form For PSG This Season
Mbappe is having another excellent campaign in Paris as he has already put in a handful of influential displays as the focal point of Christophe Galtier’s attack. The 23-year-old has banged in twelve goals and created an assist in 14 matches for the French club this season across all competitions.
The France international has been exceptional at the front for PSG based on his average of 4.6 shots, 2.0 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per game in Ligue 1 football.
He has even been accurate when linking up play in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 83.8% in the French top flight (stats via whoscored).
Should Guardiola Bring Him To Manchester City?
Mbappe is a goal-scoring beast in the attacking third as he can complete a few dangerous dribbles on the attacking end of the field. He has got a knack for creating space for himself inside the opposition penalty box and is a deadly finisher up top. Mbappe is primarily a centre-forward but remains versatile enough to fill in as a wide player on either flank if required.
The French attacker can also link up with his teammates to create better chances in front of the goal. Mbappe is a dominant force in front of the goal and he is on his way to becoming one of the best strikers in the world.
However, Pep Guardiola has not shown any interest in signing the superstar even during last summer. On the other hand, the Spanish tactician made it clear that he needed Erling Haaland and pursued him to get his signature.
Right now, signing Mbappe seems utterly unnecessary for the Sky Blues. They have reliable players in the front and enough depth in the attacking department so paying such a huge sum in the transfer fee would not be a good decision even though they have no trouble financially.
