Leeds United welcomed Aston Villa at Elland Road earlier this afternoon as they looked to grab all three points in front of their home supporters. The Whites made a decent start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at half-time.
Luis Sinisterra was sent off in the 48th minute which put the West Yorkshire club at a numerical disadvantage. However, the home team refused to give up and managed to grind out a 0-0 draw at home.
Let’s take a look at how each Leeds United player performed during the match against the Villans.
GK: Illan Meslier – 8.5/10
The Leeds keeper made a handful of important saves at the back and will be quite happy with the clean sheet today.
RB: Rasmus Kristensen – 7/10
He was defensively solid and made one good run with the ball down the right flank.
CB: Robin Koch – 7.5/10
Koch cleared the danger when needed and was strong in the air.
CB: Liam Cooper – 7/10
He won his fair share of aerial duels and didn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required.
LB: Pascal Struijk – 6.5/10
Struijk performed his defensive duties well but lacked quality in the Aston Villa half.
CM: Tyler Adams – 6/10
Adams worked hard but struggled to get a stranglehold in the game.
CM: Marc Roca – 6.5/10
The Spaniard made a couple of solid tackles and was lively in the opponent’s half.
RW: Jack Harrison – 6/10
He struggled to influence the game in the final third and did well to last 78 minutes.
CAM: Brenden Aaronson – 6/10
Aaronson created two good chances up top but never looked like he would score.
LW: Luis Sinisterra – 5/10
Sinisterra let his teammates down by getting sent off just three minutes into the second half.
ST: Rodrigo – 6.5/10
The Spanish attacker did his fair share of defending but there was no goal for him this evening.
Substitutes:
LM: Junior Firpo – 6.5/10
He was solid at the back.
CB: Luke Ayling – 6/10
Ayling did enough to keep the Villans frustrated late in the game.
ST: Patrick Bamford – 6/10
He had a few lively moments in the final third.
CM: Mateusz Klich – 6/10
Klich added more bite and steel to Jesse Marsch’s midfield.

He offered very little after coming off the bench.
