Chelsea will play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge this Saturday afternoon as they try to collect all three points in front of the home supporters. The Blues managed to secure an impressive 3-0 win versus AC Milan in midweek which will give them a lot of confidence ahead of this league fixture in the English capital.
Graham Potter will set his side up in a 3-5-2 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Kai Havertz, Marc Cucurella and Trevoh Chalobah will play from the start in this Premier League clash at home while Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Loftus-Cheek drop to the bench. However, Wesley Fofana will be sidelined for this clash due to injury.
3-5-2 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga will play in goal for the Blues after earning a clean sheet in his last outing. Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly will make up Chelsea’s backline as they try to keep things tidy when defending inside their half this weekend.
Cesar Azpilicueta and Kalidou Koulibaly will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Mason Mount will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on establishing their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
Raheem Sterling could get a chance to impress as the left-sided wide player while Reece James hopes to put in another impressive showing on the right flank. Both of them will have to make a few overlapping runs out on the wide areas and cause a few problems for the Wolves defenders.
James managed to score versus Milan and will be expected to play another influential role for Chelsea this weekend.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Conor Gallagher will be available for selection on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havetz could get an opportunity to lead the line for the Blues on the attacking end of the pitch. Aubameyang managed to get his name on the scoresheet versus AC Milan which will keep him in high spirits ahead of this game at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.
Christian Pulisic, Armando Broja, and Hakim Ziyech will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the final quarter if Potter’s team are in need of a goal by then.
