Manchester City will clash heads with Sevilla at the Etihad on Wednesday night, hoping to pick up a positive result on the final matchday of the UEFA Champions League campaign. The hosts will be coming into the match on the back of a tight 1-0 victory over Leicester City, whereas the visitors lost 1-0 to Rayo Vallecano.
Pep Guardiola will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation with several tweaks from the last game as Phil Foden looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Sevilla
Defence
Stefan Ortega will operate in between the sticks for the upcoming clash. The German shot-stopper will hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Wednesday.
Ruben Dias will form the centre-half partnership with Nathan Ake at the heart of City’s backline.
Joao Cancelo might start at the right-back position, whereas Sergio Gomez will fill in on the other flank as the right-back. The full-backs will be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Rodri might start in the holding midfield position and could be assigned with more of a defensive role to shield the home side’s back four.
Ilkay Gundogan will slot into the central midfield role, whereas Bernardo Silva is expected to start in the attacking midfield position. The duo would be determined to set up some clear-cut goal-scoring chances for the frontmen.
Kevin De Bruyne will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could come on to make a cameo appearance in the second half.
Attack
Phil Foden and Jack Grealish will take up the wide positions, playing on the right and left-wing, respectively.
Julian Alvarez will lead the line for Manchester City in midweek. The Argentine international will be hoping to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the Sevilla defence that has conceded five goals in their last five matches across all competitions.
