Chelsea will clash heads with Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX stadium on Saturday afternoon, hoping to pick up a positive result away from home. The visitors will be coming into the match on the back of a 2-1 victory over RB Salzburg on match day 5 of the UEFA Champions League campaign, whereas the Seagulls recorded a 3-1 loss to Manchester City.
Graham Potter will probably opt for the 3-5-2 formation; however, he is expected to make a couple of changes for the upcoming contest as Kalidou Koulibaly looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
3-5-2 Chelsea Predicted Lineup Vs Brighton
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to start between the sticks for the upcoming clash. The Spanish shot-stopper would hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Saturday.
Kalidou Koulibaly is expected to start at the heart of Blues’ backline, whereas Marc Cucurella will feature at the left centre-back spot. Trevoh Chalobah will fulfil the right centre-back position.
Midfield
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovacic might fulfil the holding midfield positions, with the latter occupying a more central role. The pair would be looking to dominate the midfield proceedings.
Ben Chilwell might start at the left wing-back position, whereas Christian Pulisic will fill in on the other flank as the right wing-back. The duo would be expected to stretch Chelsea’s attacks in the opposition half.
Mason Mount might slot in as the attacking midfielder.
Connor Gallagher will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could be brought on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Attack
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling will slot into the striker roles. The duo would be determined to find the back of the net when they face off against the Brighton defence that has conceded nine goals in their last five league matches.
Armando Broja might come on to make a cameo appearance in the second forty-five minutes.
